Fish and West Coast Tuna

Japan's Fuchsia Nuclear Power Facility is leaking into the Pacific Ocean constantly. This leak was caused by a powerful earthquake in 2011. Any sort of chemical leak is terrible; however, the location of the Fuchsia facility makes it significantly worse. Because this body of water does not remove or clean itself well, the chemical pollution is Just increasing and taking over the ocean. Marine life is being severely affected by this. One fish that should be a main focus is the West Coast Blue Fin Tuna. The West Coast Blue Fin Tuna is a widely recognized fish and the West Coast Tuna Fishing industry is very familiar with this marine life form. For this industry, the Fuchsia leak is the worst possible event. Phytoplankton, plankton, and many other marine life forms feed on the radioactive chemicals being released by the gallons every day. This consumption of chemicals makes its way up the food chain to the West Coast Blue Fin Tuna. Not only is it now harmful to eat, the West Coast Blue F in Tuna ingests the radioactive chemicals which in turn begin to eat away t its tissue thus leading the West Coast Blue Fin Tuna to cease to exist. To determine whether or not the rise of radiation levels in the blue fin tuna is due to the Fuchsia leak or any cause that may be natural, I have created an experiment. I would begin by monitoring a set amount of 200 North American Blue Fin Tuna (Group #1). These fish would be in clean water with no radioactive chemicals and superb circulation. My other group would consist 200 of Blue Fin Tuna in clean water that is not well circulated (Group #2). Another group would be made up of 200 Blue Fin Tuna with circulated water containing the Fuchsia chemicals Group #3).

8 Proofreading Tips And Techniques

8 Proofreading Tips And Techniques 8 Proofreading Tips And Techniques 8 Proofreading Tips And Techniques By Sharon Whether you are writing a magazine article, a college essay or an email to a client, getting your text free of mistakes is essential. The spell checker helps, but it is far from foolproof. That is where proofreading comes in. Below you will find 8 tips and techniques to make your proofreading sessions more effective. 1. Concentration is Key If youre going to spot mistakes, then you need to concentrate. That means getting rid of distractions and potential interruptions. Switch off the cell phone, turn off the television or radio and stay away from the email. 2. Put It On Paper People read differently on screen and on paper, so print out a copy of your writing. If you read aloud, your ear might catch errors that your eye may have missed. 3. Watch Out for Homonyms Homonyms are words that share the same spelling or pronunciation, but have different meanings. Switching accept with except or complement with compliment could be disastrous, so pay attention to them. 4. Watch Out for Contractions and Apostrophes People often mix their and theyre, its and its, your and youre and so on. If there is something that can hurt the credibility of your text, it is a similar mistake. Also, remember that the apostrophe is never used to form plurals. 5. Check the Punctuation Focusing on the words is good, but do not neglect the punctuation. Pay attention to capitalized words, missing or extra commas, periods used incorrectly and so on. 6. Read it Backwards When writing we usually become blind to our own mistakes since the brain automatically â€Å"corrects† wrong words inside sentences. In order to break this pattern you can read the text backwards, word by word. 7. Check the Numbers Stating that the value of an acquisition was $10,000 instead of $100,000 is definitely not the same thing. What about the population of China, is it 1,2 million or 1,2 billion? Make sure your numbers are correct. 8. Get Someone Else to Proofread It After checking all the previous points, do not forget to get a friend to proofread it for you. You will be amazed at the mistakes youve missed. A second person will also be in a better position to evaluate whether the sentences make sense or not. Attending a Performance of the Ottawa Symphony Orchestra

The performance I participated in was Prometheus' s prelude, the performances of the Ottawa Symphony Orchestra, Beethoven 's performance, Kodari orchestra' s performance, Italian Harold 's performance, Berlioz' s performance. I think that the orchestra is hosted by David Currie, and overall it worked out very well. The stages and the stages on both sides of the stage were lit up brightly and the musicians arranged semicircles around the podium. Strings in the back row are attached to risers and high stools. The first concert I participated was by the Dallas Symphony Orchestra. The orchestra performed Shostakovich's Symphony No. 7, Leningrad from the romantic era. The orchestra is a large orchestra (1) containing various instruments that contribute to the overall sound of the instrument. Since the orchestra is a big orchestra like a musical instrument that is common in romantic times, the orchestra can be full of activity, perhaps vibrant (2). The orchestra has changed a bit ... Read more General reaction: The concert I participated is SPX Magic for Christmas by Charlotte Symphony Orchestra by Albert-George Schram director. This is the first professional orchestral concert I participated and the first concert I studied at UNC Greensboro. When I was walking down the street in downtown Charlotte, the wind blew my face and small raindrops were thrown into the air. It looks like Christmas. As a music major at the University of California at Berkeley, I was lucky enough to participate in the concert of the UCB Symphony Orchestra for free. I often participate in the performance and regularly study the music and history related to the orchestra performance, but I will never be surprised by the complexity and beauty of that orchestra. Not only is this instrument completely harmonious, it synchronizes speed and dynamics to create great performance. Listening to these wonderful musicians is almost impossible to believe that such playing is coincidence or coincidence. Comp osers and musicians did not throw random notes in the air, but randomly scattered them into the music staff. Instead, each instrument is precisely adjusted to 440 Hz, and each musician follows certain notes and descriptions of a particular musical score. These memos were written by the composers with contemplation and planning, and the composer may work for these masterpieces for months or years.

Bank regulation Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 3000 words - 1

Bank regulation - Essay Example Banks are big players in the financial sector of governments in the world. Because of that, banks affect the countries economically and hence their operations must be monitored. Some banks are very large that they are considered, â€Å"too big to fail† (Andrew, 2010). That means that such banks would cause a lot of economic problems if they were to go down. Such banks are very sensitive to their country’s economy as it is partially dependent on them. In the instance the banks crumble, it takes the government to provide funds to bail them out. If the government were to fail to do so there would be a financial crisis in the country. Bank regulation was put in place to achieve some aims. The aims and objectives vary from country to country but there are those that stand out and are common in many countries. Some of the aims are systemic risk reduction, protecting bank confidentiality, increasing credit allocation to deserving clients and to decrease fraud in banks. Systemi c risk reduction ensures that the financial system of a country does not fail completely due to irregular trading conditions of banks (Alexander, 2006, p.184). Protecting bank confidentiality ensures that the information that a bank is entitled to rightfully withhold from the public is not leaked. Credit allocation ensures that the right and deserving entities can access loans from the banks. Decreasing fraud ensures that banks are not used to perform financial malpractices like money laundering. Bank regulation occurs by applying certain principles that vary from country to country. Some principles are however common in most of the countries. The general principles of bank regulation therefore include supervisory review, market discipline and minimum requirements. Supervisory review involves licensing and monitoring of banks. For banks to operate they need to be licensed and this is done by the financial regulator. The Bank regulators after licensing banks monitor them to ensure they

ROLE OF BUSINESS ETHICS IN CORPORATE AMERICA, GLOBAL ECONOMY AND Research Proposal

ROLE OF BUSINESS ETHICS IN CORPORATE AMERICA, GLOBAL ECONOMY AND LATEST FINANCIAL CRISIS - Research Proposal Example The corruption and greed that came with power of absolute control through economy also played it pivotal role in the gradual deterioration. The ideology of free market economy and the capitalist economy gave rise to the economic set up that is most evidently practiced in America. It rose against the communist and fascist ideals and became the representative system of democracy. As the economies grew they evolved into a particular system with concrete rules and regulations. The business and industries developed and as the economy became global, these industries and businesses developed into multinational organizations and corporate. The corporate became the central organs of the economic system, and with these in place, arose the need of maximizing profits. However, with the complete control of economy came power for these corporate that also held the place to make key decisions. As is said the absolute power corrupts absolutely, so with the complete control over most of economic decisions and with the power to manipulate governments with their economic sway, the corporate leaders indulged in corruption and the trickle-down effect held true, as all those under them, followed their lead. The corporate culture that developed in these circumstances was fraught with unethical practices; it fed greed and greed in turn lead to corruption in all the main quarters. While some of them were charged and punished for their practices, most of them continued the practices under the pretense of maximization of profits that ultimately had to trickle-down to the lower strata of the society. This however, was not the case and while the money accumulated in the coiffeurs of the few, the main people who were supposed to be the beneficiary of the free market suffered and failed to progress. The situation all over the globe remained the same. The fiscal crisis also, affected those at the lower-strata of society, or in the underdeveloped countries, making their sufferings even worse. Starting with the sub-prime mortgage crisis, the economy in America faced a severe fiscal predicament, and the situation led to a complete withdrawal of faith on part of the people in the economic policies and transactions of government. This crisis in turn affected the global economy as all those nations who had invested in the corporations that were declared bankrupt or were on the verge of it, sank taking with them all the invested money. The economies globally were also affected because of the severely interconnected nature of the global trade and business. A lower federal reserve in any country affected the trust of all other countries in them and with the US itself on brink of fiscal disaster due to lack of liquidity, the current situation becomes a matter of grave concern for all involved. The situation also attests to the fact that transformations in the current economic set-up are gravely required. Conclusion The need of the time is to devise methods and make laws, as well as to make sure of the implementation of

Religious Approaches Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 500 words

Religious Approaches - Essay Example The non-Christian Chinese should engage them through these core values that are also shared by the Christians and they should come in it knowing that it is not an event for hostile arguments. They should not seek to defend nor to attack for at the end no one will emerge as the winner. The dialogue should be conducted with the aim of increasing understanding. The non-Christians Chinese should at all times make sure that the formal debate doesn’t occur outside the dialogue. This doesn’t imply that there should no, or there will be no disagreement at the time of the dialogue. Since the differences that exist at the core of individual’s systems of belief are at issue, frequent disagreements are bound to be there. However, the dialogue isn’t the forum for trying to demonstrate the greatness of one system of belief over another. Open disagreement is supposed to primarily take place only whenever a participant is convinced that another participant has prompted or made a misconception to the practices and beliefs of the first. The non-Christians Chinese when engaging Christians in dialogue, they are supposed to let them their own self-definition. This is a very important rule in such type of dialogue. Christians have to be given the chance to define their beliefs, as well as their understanding of the religious teachings without being contradicted by the non-Christian Chinese. They should also be willing to critically look into their very own religion as they look into Christianity.
